Scarlet The Sunrise Poem by ANDREW BLAKEMORE

Scarlet The Sunrise

Rating: 5.0

Scarlet the sunrise as morning is breaking,
I wake to the sound of the birds as they sing,
Flying above in the skies of such wonder,
I join in their songs and the joy that they bring,
Carry me forth to the arms of my loved one,
I hope she is waiting to welcome me home,
I'll follow the sun to wherever it takes me,
Over the hills and the country I'll roam.

Casting aside all the pain and the burdens,
My future seems clear and I know where to go,
For I cannot live if my life is without you,
The rivers of love shall eternally flow,
Winding through valleys and all of their beauty,
Remind me so much of the time we did share,
Those days I remember with so much affection,
I never stopped loving and shall always care.

Scarlet the sunset as evening is falling,
Soon stars up above will be guiding my way,
The hush of the darkness the still of the night-time,
A chill's in the air at the end of the day,
I need to rest but my dreams will continue,
I'll picture I'm with you and always are mine,
My heart once so empty is now overflowing,
With passion forever in love so divine.
