so green all i could see
over puddles; little lakes
bowing birds digging ground
eating small creatures found
i reach to flowing water
gently going away from me
i feel coolness of raindrops
now searching lips of sea
i let go a leaf floating
watching how far it should
caught by weeds and sunk
forming a small whirlpool
spinning ant trying to cling
desperately to anything
i offer her safety on stick
distance myself from sharp teeth
i watch bubbles popping all over
not enough to contain run-off
i ask trees to soak more; deaf
towering with their nakedness
letting through wind swish
no snow this year to chill them
some are still asleep in dream
roars from sky; airplane came
