Scent O' Reform Poem by D.N. Rebb

Scent O' Reform

Rating: 5.0

Driving down Hockley Valley Road
Past the lovely charming Resort
Windows down, though last night it snowed
Scent o' reform bearing report

An early winter mornin' ride
Sad snow covered pines share the way
Loneliness suddenly allied
Scent o' reform doesn't betray

Out here, there's no Global Village
Just time to sort out the fogged mind
As crows fly and turn the next page
Scent o' reform shouldn't be blind

The honest heart reminisces
How conclusive it all once was
And the future just dismisses
Scent o' reform by no true cause

The road, it takes a sudden turn
No talisman is needed here
Only the fly on the wall learns
That scent o' reform spews no fear

The glass gets cranked back up again
Vital heat now obliged to blast
Radio plays to entertain
For scent o' reform, smiles cast

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wrote this in the winter. Driving through the country to clear the mind. If you're familiar with the Hockley Valley Road (in Ontario) - it has many interesting curves
