Secret Mission Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Secret Mission

There may be many on one secret mission,
To re-capture common sense.
From where it has been kept hostage.
However...
They admit among themselves,
There is a problem.
A dilemma.
More challenging to face.
And that is remembering,
How to recognize common sense.
And its use.
To know after so many years,
From the nonsense.
They have grown accustomed,
On a daily basis being abused by it.

Making this 'one' mission,
The most difficult of all missions.
That will save humanity,
From being programmed to accept...
Promises to delude them,
As real to receive to believe.
And not to suspect,
Cartooned animals animated...
Picked to be their new leaders.
Have begun to be tested,
To completely evaporate...
Their thought process.
As quick to addict as cotton candy.

"How much time do we have left? "

-Not much.
Amusement parks have begun to overflow,
With lifetime membership requests.
And...
Believe it or not.
A choice to vote,
For their favorite animated character.-

"Say whaaaat? ! "

-Yep.
And in all places,
In Washington, D.C.
To represent their interests.-

"Lies!
Who would spread such lies? "

-I'm only sharing what I have heard.
And from reliable sources.
Finding it easier than ever,
Getting jobs at these amusement parks.-
