Self Discovery... - Poem by Annette Aitken

Self Discovery

Someday I'll wake to find myself
on an exhilarating journey
for every sight
and every sound
takes me one step closer
to finding myself.

For unbound freedom
in every touch
in every taste
and every smell
can take me travelling the globe
in an instant.

With every new book I read
from every word
to every sentence
and each paragraph
opens a glorious world
into wonderful imagination.

For me, myself and I alone
I am my own keeper.

'Someday I'll wake to find myself

    takes me one step closer
    to finding myself.'

loved the first two lines building building into the journey of self discovery, if taken as a voyage it is best to avoid the bad weather; loved the theme

    takes me one step closer
to finding myself............................LOST............again? aren't you in U.K. somewhere? ask a friendly bobby!

enjoy the journey. speaking of books, time for me to finish brushing my teeth and then read from library book before 'turning in'.

To read and imagine is a freedom from everyday life, to create is to have wings to fly and discover yourself in a beautiful way!
    Great write!
