Self-Help Is Cornerstone. Poem by Varsha M

Self-Help Is Cornerstone.

Rating: 5.0

Walking Alone the aisle
Caught up in my own cognitive
Drenched as I perceive.

Nothing around me moved so fast
But my thought that affect
Shook my conscience abrupt.

My friends kept knocking
But I failed to hear anything
Only me and my thoughts echoing.

My family jolted every now and then
But I chose to remain in my dungeon confine
Since I was stuck in marshy mess.

Who can help me, but me?
Who can deliver me, but me?

Help is all around always
I have to learn
Which door to open
And which door to close, when.

I have to learn
To love myself
So that no harm, I choose
But to safeguard myself
From every dreaded darkness
Prowling like a hungry lion
Ready to devour any hour.
