Self Inventory Poem by Ima Ryma

Self Inventory

A self help book that I came by
Said important was honesty.
If dishonest, then find out why
By taking an inventory
Really honest about myself,
Needing to thoroughly exam
My dishonesty, shelf by shelf,
For truth how dishonest I am.
It was hard but I did the job,
Found truth in me that was not nice,
Counted dishonesty a gob,
But found virtue to stop this vice.

I learned my lesson, so I took
Back the shoplifted self help book.

Had to smile at the ending. Good one.
