Selfish. Poem by Nabakishore Dash

Selfish.

Rating: 5.0

Selfishness is wide spread
in all spheres and professions.
It is the mother of
every unrest and corruption.

People amass wealth,
acquire power and
position.
The craving for
more and more
causes addiction.

Such people try their utmost
to explore the means
to satisfy their impulses.
Just like an addict searches
for the whores in the midst
of pitch darkness.

The client never bothers about
her psyche and compulsions.
Only asserts his rights
over her body to douse
his own passions.

Selfish persons are
worse than the addicts.
They are stumbling blocks
for others to fulfill their
individual needs.
