Selfishly Focused Poem by RoseAnn V. Shawiak

Selfishly Focused

Sitting here thinking about people who seem to have everything
in life, their health, sanity, money and plenty of it, having
friends and family who are sick, aged, dying and won't even
have a thought of how they could help in some way to make life
easier for them.

Watching instead, as they suffer and are in debilitating pain,
saying, "it's not my fault", and walking away, not realizing
when thinking of the reality of their lives that they're miss-
ing love, caring, compassion from others, because they are so
selfishly focused on themselves that no one else matters to
them at all.
