Seven Deadly Sins Poem by gershon hepner

Seven Deadly Sins

Rating: 5.0

Are you ambitious for ambition?
When it comes to greed,
lose your every inhibition
when you feel the need?
Tell me about other deadly
sins, the top one, lust:
when you’re feeling somewhat bedly,
is lust then a must,
Could it be that you feel wrath
towards yourself when lazy,
deadly as the sin of sloth,
ill defined and hazy.
What do you think about gluttony?
Sins of that weird ilk
remind me of the trope, “Got any? ” ––
gluttony of milk.
Envy makes me feel no pang,
I can say with pride;
on my words I hope you’ll hang,
though in some I’ve lied.
Lies aren’t listed among sins
that can kill the sinner.
He who does all seven wins,
deadly medal winner.

Linda wrote to me:

Well my ambition is to have peace of mind and I'll only find it in my meta straw hut. Maybe some Man Friday will come and distract me. And re ambition, some have it thrust upon them. So you don't need ambition for ambition. XXXL
