Sewer Moles Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Sewer Moles

Long gone and many years ago,
Sewer moles had their peepholes...
Paved and rolled over.
Yet determined they remained,
To rise above from the gutters.
With a wish to reach,
Heights impossible.
To believe this desperate seeking,
Could actually be achieved.
And this to accomplish,
Left everyone stunned.

With status to obtain.
And enormous wealth to get,
From a suspected suspicious...
Corrupted vicious.
Connected and found underground.
Sewer moles adapted to images.
Groomed with impressions.
No one questioned to accept them.

Today as decades fast to fade,
These same sewer moles...
Demand to have investigated,
The 'potential' for fraud.
By those who protest,
Their positions of power.
Acquired by deception.
And revealing theft.

Yet...
Having a casual,
Relationship with the truth.
Sewer moles set out to prove,
They only reflect...
A pretentiousness the people expect.
And regardless,
Of their demented mentalities.
That has left humanity in shambles.
To leave a quality of life,
Approaching depths of gutter sludge.
Sewer moles to have reached,
The heights of power remain to claim...
Never will they let go,
Of making the World...
Like the home they only know.

Dwelling in darkened caves.
Homesick with wishes.
Hoping to extinguish,
The power of enlightenment.
And the truth of it to prove,
Not truth but 'they'...
Had been born to rule.
Done to do.
To ensure the future,
Is a myth created by fools!
Who portray themselves,
As faithful believers of God.

"We...
Are your 'gods'."

-Oh yeah?
Well 'we' have overwhelming evidence,
You and your 'We'...
Are nothing more,
Than treasonous corrupted criminals.-

"And...
Where is your evidence,
That disproves...
We are not the best at what we do? "
