Shadow Beauty Poem by Smoky Hoss

Shadow Beauty

Rating: 5.0

Shadow is the poetry of nature,
it puts words deep into light.
Shadow is the grace
of forced release,
trusting what was there in the light
remains.
Shadow is life's punctuation, a pause
between a sentence of seeing, and
a word of hoping to see.
Shadow is the break
between 'what if' and 'what is'.
Shadows are vibrations
reverberating through a world gone stagnant,
soft sounds sending signals
into the quiet unknown,
holy whispers of the beyond,
measuring the depth of divinity
dwelling within the light.
- Light illuminates all;
and shadow, in the beauty of contrast,
illuminates the Light.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The incredible poet Rainer Maria Rilke, in one of his best poems, had God saying to him: 'Flare up like flame, and make big shadows I can move in.' We move in the light, God moves in the shadows.

On the last two lines, Smoky, indeed. I think of what going without does for my appreciation of what I have. -Glen
