She Likes Her Gin And Tonic Poem by D.N. Rebb

She Likes Her Gin And Tonic

She opened the door with a whack of her hip
But not in an aggressive way
It was very sexy to witness
There was passion in her steps
As she approached the bar
She greeted the keeper with a wink
Her eyes were made of tender lust
I know, it's an oxymoron
But that's what they were like
She didn't sit down, but
Kind of leaned against the stool
As she waited for her drink
Perhaps she was pressing for company
Most men stayed away from her though
She was in a league all on her own
The type that would grab you by the manhood
And take you upstairs, if you know what I mean
Her drink tactlessly landed on the table
It disappeared in one quick gulp
Nodded at the barkeep for a second one
She then patiently waited, and turned around
To gauge the mood of the room
She tried making eye contact with any guy
But they all sheepishly looked down
A laughter reserved for the insane
Erupted from her mouth
Her diaphragm, like a turbo booster, emphasizing
The second drink was then ready
She took her time this time
As she knew eyes were watching
Her tongue teased the lipstick-stained glass
Like it was some sort of foreplay prop
She took one of the cubes and inhaled it
Sucking on it, like, well you know
Her cheeks concaved in
The entire room turned into instant mouth breathers
Inhaling, exhaling rather rapidly
She knew what she was doing
But they were all cowards, as she devilishly smiled
No one dared to approach her
She then shrugged and slammed a twenty on the bar
An unspoken keep-the-change entailed
And she left the same way she entered
No one got her name
But everyone still refers to her as
Gin and tonic

I haven't read a poem that was so creative and full of details in a while. Your words made me feel warm and cozy, like a candle that slowly melts. Great job on the poem!

Thanks for the kind response, M. Asim. And for the very poetic metaphor. (but wait, is it a metaphor?)
