Silver Spoon Pedigree Privileges Poem by Terence George Craddock

Silver Spoon Pedigree Privileges

Rating: 5.0

with awe and wonder
I contemplated the saga
embedded in social plunder

status hierarchy social mobility cast asunder
once controlled still by parents avoiding social blunder
what is more important honesty piety or a knock out stunner?

what is important is wealth?
what is important is breading health?
what is important is shop descent pedigree shelf?

all seeded rich are a result of lusty play in silky mattress
marriage a noble institution for privilege hide the mistress
pedigree descent record shows purity purebred bloodlines

oncoming offspring
fight for survival rights
foundlings left in baskets

an image of 'shiny silky mattress' does stir images
born with a silver spoon in plum mouth privileges
not plastic spoon survival fights not survival rights

it is base natural human tendency
to fight for petty or huge property
plotting or explosive spontaneity

whether sired children are born
with a silver spoon in spoilt mouth
or less privileged plastic spoon
