Single Again Poem by Belle Wassermeister

Single Again

Rating: 4.8

Sometimes he forgot that he was married,
and suddenly, he wasn't any more.
There's only just so much a wife can take,
so finally she showed him to the door.

Divorce was not required, for he had
a wife already, living there in France.
Annulment came quite quickly from the court,
and she had thought that this had been her chance

for perfect love and happiness to last,
but sadly learned that it's not safe to trust.
We dream of handsome knights in shining armor,
until we see that armor turned to rust.

LeeAnn, thank you. You were my first friend on this website and still my dearest friend of all. I've never met you in person, but I love you dearly.

(cont.) Of course I've always neglected to do such, including before I got married for the FOURTH time. I WON'T argue if 'you' call me a fool. But THIS up & down marriage has lasted the longest of 4. : ) bri

stanza 3: No, it's not COMPLETELY 'safe' to ALWAYS 'trust', anyone or anything, BUT....I say 'try to use common sense, hire a 'private eye' and do a 'background check' on people you plan to live with! ! ! ! (cont.) '

stanza! : I've had two wives 'show me the door', and I say: 'Adios, it's NOT been a pleasure.' I'VE 'shown one the door' and kicked her her 'for good measure'. (cont.)
