I want to stay forever, but I can't;
to this old world we all must bid goodbye.
It does no good to sit and rave and rant,
nor try to understand the reason why.
Already I've been here more time than some;
so I won't try to stay another day
beyond the time when God says to me: "Come."
I'll gladly grab my wings and fly away.
I know that there is life beyond this sphere,
for many things to me were manifest.
We must improve ourselves while we are here;
we must try very hard to pass our test.
If you believe the Judgment is just talk,
it could be you are in for one big shock.
Beautiful. I really like the picture also. Your note about kindness is so compassionate, I love that.
Belle, both your poem and your notes express so very well the beliefs of a devout Christian. I am not a bible thumping Christian, but I made a promise to God in 1978 to spread His Word. Nothing has stopped me from doing this. And nothing, nor no one, will ever do so! illistian
Marvelous poem, Belle! As Cowboy Ron said, this sonnet is flawless in both form and content. Extremely well done!
