Single Life Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Single Life

Adjusting to living the single life,
Is not easy to accept...
In the beginning as a blessing.
But the benefits to appreciate oneself,
Becomes recognized as a gift given.
Only God knows,
Who to give this gift to receive.
When one is in need,
To experience the having a peace of mind.
After going through times,
Attempting to find...
What it would take to escape,
Away from nonsense others create.
To make one's life,
As miserable as possible.
And on purpose to please their satisfaction.
This to leave,
Can not be done without...
Begging God to intervene.
With faith to squeeze from every prayer done.
On knees until they have become numbed!
