Skeletons In A Cupboard Poem by Aniruddha Pathak

Skeletons In A Cupboard

The church and Catholics are shocked,
A Cardinal has been defrocked,
He was found soliciting sex
That left many a clergy feeling vex.
Sure, the powerful prelate
For long was not celibate,
Defrocked, he now lives in a friary
Along with common hierarchy,
And cannot wear clerical vestments,
Of course, he still wears some garments,
Yet, thanks his cupboard-of-skeleton,
It has the old faith in church shaken.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Many a place of religion, be it Christian, Muslim, Hindu or any, have turned into centres of vice, call it the spirit of times or whatever. This little ditty is based on an actual happening. It is felt that defrocking them is not enough. They need to be totally exposed to the last piece of raiment.
