Slave Love Poem by Varsha M

Slave Love

Rating: 4.6

Day and night you came to my home,
When I was alone,
You accompanied me on the phone,
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love we had sworn?

Separated by miles on the map,
Eyes couldn't behold the man
But the thought of your caress carpeted the gap,
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love we had sworn?

Well woven gems of admiration,
Wore wings of swiftness in exclamation,
Racing, as if life and death, are not in affirmation,
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love we had sworn?

Like an expectant mother, over there,
Waited for every letter, filled with flair,
Embracing every word's splatter in the air
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love we had sworn?

I wonder, is this the love,
The love we swore, this slave love,
Never failing to drown, naive love,
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love, we had sworn?

Slave love, yet beloved
Defeating, yet wanted
Painful, yet cherished
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love, we had sown?

Slave love, might it seem
Selfish, arrogant at realm
But profound, if you calm
I wonder, I wonder
Is this the love, we had sown?
