Sleep Deprived Poem by Brittany Roper

Sleep Deprived

Rating: 5.0

Sleep is a wonderful thing.
It rejuvenates your mind,
Makes you less emotional,
Prepares you for a new day,
Helps you escape from real life,
Relaxes your tight muscles,
Oh, I wish I got more sleep!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Written in a style created by my grandpa, Kim Barney. It's called a square poem. It has the same number of syllables in each line as there are lines in the poem.

Oh, I didn't see you poet's note when I left my comment yesterday. So Kim Barney invented square poems! Great concept!

Well done! It looks like you have mastered the square poem format. I well remember those days when I craved more sleep.

Kudos on your first square poem. Seven lines and seven syllables per line, and the content is incredibly meaningful! I don't often rate poems, but this one gets a ten from me!
