Slip Away Poem by Steve Armstrong

Slip Away

I think I'm going to cry,
For the first time today.
My hopes, my dreams, my everything,
They all fade away.

I have nothing now, only emptiness.
A void in my soul,
I feel nothing,
Only time lets me know I am still living.

Your words,
They cut like a knife,
The sharp edge,
Sliding through my skin,
Deep, to my bones,
Deep, to my soul.

I think I'm going to cry,
For the first time today.
My bitter, twisted, angry life,
Slowly slips away
