Smiles Slide Not On Lips Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Smiles Slide Not On Lips

Rating: 4.5

Before I said, "I love you", you inspired me
with your natural, catching, unfeigned smiles
and raised my level on a poetic writing spree;
then, smiles slide not along the lips all the while.

The mind sends not joyous signals to your lips
to burst in smiles and lift me up high and high.
To weigh my manners, it sends you serious tips.
Failing to see thy smiles, on the earth I lie.

You find fault even for the slip of the tongue.
Shall I join ancourse to learn to speak?
Harmful words on this unarmed man, you've flung;
and a breath of love-life makes you to reek.

Don't pretend as the epitome of morals.
You've to wade through marsh and the wilds to win laurels.
