Smilesgivethrills Poem by Rajendran Muthiah

Smilesgivethrills

Rating: 5.0

Your words of heat and hate incensed my mind
but I kept quiet as you are a prisoner
Unbailable to a suspicious nature.
I am not intriguing even against my foes
but I am bound to save you from the intrigues.

We are not star-crossed lovers dear
to meet a pathetic end in the half-way of life.
We apply reason to things we come across
and proceed in ways parallel as equal stars.
Free from pride and you will see me the gem.

Being a culture -vulture in scribbling poems
I put you in the highest pedestal of my heart
as you urged in me with your smiles giving thrills.
The prolonged lockdown makes the features
of your face receding from my mind, uninspiring.

The stifled breath of the breeze can't open the buds
to fill the environs with a sweet scent.
A dim face of yours fails to stir my heart
and my lines are built with conscious efforts
in mundane rhythms to bore the readers.
