Sniper On The High Street! Poem by David Taylor

Sniper On The High Street!

Rating: 5.0

The sun shone brightly.
A busy high street,
basking in tranquillity.

They stood face to face
on the pedestrianised square.
His face darkly despondent,
eyes averting.
She strident, angry.

A few words drifted
across the crisp air.
You said........again.....
No...not what I meant
.........you always......

She like a sniper
rifling home her points
He a terrorist?
Or innocent, in the wrong place,
at the wrong time?

Many passed by
untouched by the incident,
and Life shone
silently.

Well presented Daivd, a little drama, yet no one sees the internal struggles. Beautiful story making piece. Love and hugs Ernestine XXX
