Jim said he'd take her for a stroll.
Then they'd have tea and toad-in-the-hole,
But they wouldn't let him out on parole,
So he never did!
Jo said they'd both go to the park,
Have a kiss and have a lark,
But he lost her there, out in the dark,
So he never did!
James said he'd hire a limousine,
And take her up to Aberdeen,
But he ended up somewhere, in between,
So he never did!
John said he'd buy her a lovely mink,
Gosh, she thought, I'm in the pink,
But it was a skunk. Wow what a stink!
So he never did!
Jack said he'd buy her a diamond ring,
If to him, her heart she'd bring,
But with her heart he was only playing,
So he never did!
So she found a lovely chap called Ken,
Who carried her off to his opulent den,
I didn't ever discover what transpired then,
But he certainly did!
Ah! ! She got there in the end, reached her man with a wonderful plan, ..And she did! ! ! Lovely Ernestine Top quality poetry, from a top quality poetess! ! ! 10 without fail! ! Love duncan X
