Soaking Wet Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Soaking Wet

Many may notice to have more,
Money in their paychecks.
But still can not afford,
Stopping their homes...
From being foreclosed.
Or watching what they treasure,
Sink underwater.
As thousands of people pretend,
They swim for the exercise.
With the hope that this sweat equity,
Will restore their faith...
In a future to invest.
Instead having regrets for mistakes made.
That has produced not reduced,
Overwhelming debt.
And that increase in their paychecks,
Will begin to dry...
All their prized things now worthless.
Left soaking wet.
And a return of their pretensions,
Will be kept to be less...
Affected.
