Sober Nights
Can I see myself young, after thirty years?
Can I hear your voice my friend, when I left you far behind?
Can I travel back and relive the times which I felt trivial then?
On this sober night, I fear to answer these, my friend..............................
Can I accept my inabilities and not be jealous of you?
Can I be content with what I've got and not pray for more from GOD?
Can I be brave enough, not in our fight but before your eyes,
And apologize for blaming you for all my mistakes.........................
I trust you too will believe that this world is a tough place,
Not always I can see you smile, not always I can make you understand,
I wish you believe that tonight's tears makes your heart lighter,
I prefer satisfaction to desire, on this sober night.................................
Can I be complacent and wander without a destination in life?
Can I be proud of all my irresponsible behavior and drink to that?
Can I kneel again in front of you and ask for love than forgiveness?
When I know that getting neither of them stands a chance..................
Can I quit money for hearts and not being called crazy?
When I know, for many this means more than their life,
Can I disobey authority and not being called a rebel?
Which I would prefer to than being an android surrounding me everywhere.....................
I have explanations to give and riddles to answer, in life,
I choose to remain silent and let my heart to ponder,
What makes life complete, sanctity or love, I wonder sometimes,
I tell others to find sanctity in love, on this sober night.............

Most of us ask such questions to ourselves when we feel remorseful for past mistakes.Lovely expression of true feelings, thanks for sharing.
