Solace Poem by Lilly Rose

Solace

Rating: 4.5

Today, I found Solace.
He sat beside me.
His hat was twisted,
Bottle caps around its rim.
His boots were muddy,
Leaving speckles of dust.
A faded carhart, worn
Hung from his shoulders.
Inside his country frame
Sat a warm, loving heart.
He slid his arms around me,
I buried in his embrace.
Soon after, he had to leave.
He left me with his scent,
Happiness and Solace
Sitting in his empty seat, still
Holding my hand with his heart.
