Soldiers Prayer - Poem by louis rams
This is mysoldiers prayer to the soldiers everywhere
We may not be in harms way, but it could change from day to day.
Some may have joined to get a free education, and others
Because they felt a dedication.
Whatever the reason we are all here to serve
And our prayers can be heard.
LORD! I may not be worthy to receive you as my savior
But please let us soldiers be in your favor.
We may be sent to a battle field with death all around
But with your blessings we'll be safe and sound.
Let us get back to our loved ones and live a fruitful life
With our husbands or our wives.
We wear our uniforms with pride, just like the angels
With wings on high.
Protect us every step of the way as we kneel to you and pray.
