Thomas Merton is an author whose books I know. Christ did pray for men before the trial and on the cross: 'Father forgive them, for they know not what they do'. A concise but inspiring religious poem I find.

Michael, thank you for believing it to be an inspiring religious poem. It is one of many included in my book of poetry about Thomas Merton. With some luck, it will be published in the New Year.
