Something About Snores, Leases, & A New Tenant Poem by Kewayne Wadley

Something About Snores, Leases, & A New Tenant

I enjoy falling asleep next to you
To me there's no better feeling.
You give me peace and fill up
All the empty spaces I myself,
Cannot.
We talk for a minute then silence
Is the only thing we hear.
The funny thing about getting old
Is that it creeps up on you.
Here we are experiencing that same
Growth.
Whether you know it or not,
You've signed a lease.
& With every snore, you've move
A piece of yourself into my lungs.
There really isn't a lot of room
To move around anymore.
Most nights, I wake up to feel my left
Side heavier than my right.
The exact reason I enjoy falling
Asleep next to you.
You're so calm and you're able
To be yourself.
You come over, drink up
All of my drinks and hog all of the
Covers.
I love falling asleep next to you
All of the things we never say
Seem to come out when we're
Knocked out sleep next to each other.
Completely accepting of each other's
Comfort.
I love falling asleep next to you
