Something Understood Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Something Understood

What is felt,
And known to be loved.
Will remain as is.
To do and express.
Having nothing to do,
With attention to get it.
Or flaunting,
Temporary possessions about.
When the Sun shines.
Capturing the blaze of bling.
That many seek,
To display a self worth.
Limited to trinkets.

Who has not,
Been there before?
20 dollars more,
To have in one's pocket.
Is not a mystery to witness,
An addition of swagger.
To one's usual walk.

To know what is loved.
To know it felt to feel,
Deeply.
With attempts made,
Not to reveal.
One prays to God.
And on a daily basis.
That what one has,
To be blessed to receive...
Can be possibly kept,
Without having others...
Assuming to believe,
One's happiness to express it...
Has got something to do,
With money.
Giving someone the ability,
To pay for a peace of mind!

Even though,
The assumption is ridiculous.
This to understand,
Becomes noticeably...
Something that is understood!
