Sometimes when writing poetry,
I'll write just plain old daft.
A wee bit of fun and silliness,
Whenever possible in this craft.
I don't take myself too seriously,
That'll just lead to a cruel heart attack.
A laugh or maybe a simple smile,
Is the very least that I can give back.
For in our lives we live and lead,
We all need to sometimes escape.
Where everyone is so damned serious,
Sometimes its better to act the ape.
