Some people listen to the song
while others listen to the voice.
The audience often gets it wrong,
confused, because it has the choice
to concentrate on either one,
forgetting that you need the two,
entwined together as they run,
responsive, harmony to cue;
for song is nothing till you hear
the voice that gives it life and sound,
and voice can't echo in the ear
until with song it leaves the ground.

I couldn't agree more. Very well said and put together in a very readable and strong poem. Great rhyme scheme. Technically very sound and cleverly stated. I've enjoyed the great majority of your work I've seen posted here over the past few weeks. I lift my glass to you. - Prosit!

I thought it was brilliant till the end which was kind of a forced line in that it had to rhyme. Still, the rest of it and the idea was great.
