Songs Of Wives-01: Draupadi-03-The Blessed Life Poem by Subhas Chandra Chakra

Songs Of Wives-01: Draupadi-03-The Blessed Life

Rating: 5.0

It was easy

to please

the greatest of Gods,

but so difficult

to please the husbands

all human

with aspirations supreme

and ambitions high.

Each moment

seemed like a day,

and the day

appeared like ages

She had to discriminate

between them,

to choose between them

among those aspirants

all her nearest and

her dearest ones.

And now she had

a dilemma to work out-

to accept and allow

one to live with her,

and to keep away others-

so dear to her and her heart,

all wedded to her

to her body and mind and soul,

all her soul mates-

to let others be so much

traumatic without her

at such close proximity

to live by without her.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The five great wishes of Draupadi were granted, but it was not an easy life for the great queen to carry on with these boons granted to her. The life she went on with was at times bitterer than hell and at some other times an abode in heaven. Every moment she lived was more than the hardest test on the Earth.

Draupdi, I don't know your story Seems like from what Subash writes you life was all boons and banes But to this young beautiful bride dressed in a dazzling wedding dress with amazing jewelry, ornaments I wish her all boons all her life... (I could write a whole lot more to put life into your poem, but the site does not allow me more than 400 characters in the comment column. What a character!) . Best.
