Sonnet Xxv - I Praise The Lily Set Upon Her Breast Poem by Valerie Dohren

Sonnet Xxv - I Praise The Lily Set Upon Her Breast

Rating: 5.0

I praise the Lily set upon her breast
Enfolded in her arms so soft and white
Which thus adorns her as she lays at rest
My love now lost to shadows of the night
Oh lovely bloom so comely and divine
With silken petals and a fragrance sweet
Keep vigil o'er the one that once was mine
Stay close to her I graciously entreat
May all thy petals fall upon her bed
And ‘round her as a gift from heav'n above
(An aureole glows bright above her head
So shining as a symbol of our love)
………… Oh Lily, lovely flower sweet and white
………… I give my love to take into the night
