Soothing Poem by Lawrence S. Pertillar

Soothing

Some feel it soothing.
To know they can offend,
Others to do.
And expect to get attention.
From those they perceive are sensitive.
With this done continually to do.
But few who feel superior over others,
Would use words to prove...
Themselves to be better.
Unless they still rely on wishes to believe,
What they read and see on TV.
Also validates a wisdom they can not create.
And hope their lack of appreciation,
For those they know have it.
Will not expose,
What their insecurities express to upset...
Those expecting,
To be discriminated against...
By those wishing them to feel inferior.
And doing it until they are left soothed.
Since no one who is of skin color,
Know who are those bigoted.
With racist inclinations.
Live this to know it 24/7.
And believe this or not,
Even on holidays.
To celebrate with everyone.
Done to enjoy all their colors.
Without demonstrating discrimination.
