Sparkles
I felt extremely sad and depressed,
As I could not win the race,
The great man came and encouraged me saying,
"Don't worry,
One day you will also win it, "
Immediately I felt sparkles in my spine
And I resolved to come back with flying colours.

if only the man's words don't become 'false hope'! ! ! then you may be MORE sad! i Googled " tingles vs. sparkles" and found evidence that either would fit here, though my preference would be tingle. BUT " sparkle" and " spine" makes a nice alliteration! ! ok, bri :) some races are not as important as others.
