Spiders! Poem by Simon Gowen

Spiders!

Rating: 5.0

I’m sure I saw a shadow
From the corner of my eye
It’s one of three, a spider,
A moth or just a fly.

I don’t mind flies, can’t stand moths
From spiders I will run
I’m sure they understand this
And they tease me just for fun

I’ll sit for hours with feet up
Just frozen to the spot
If it shows its hairy body
I’ll aim and take my shot

I know it’s sat there laughing
It can see my filled with fear
So across the floor it makes it’s move
I wait as it comes near

I throw at first, my slipper
But with 8 eyes it can see
My poorly aimed hush puppy
Now it’s making fun of me!

It run’s towards the sofa
It can clearly now be seen
My skin is filled with Goosebumps
And I’ve just let out a scream!

It’s stalking me I know it
I wonder what it’s feeling?
I know that when I wake up
He’ll be sat their on my ceiling.

Now it’s playing silly spider games
It’s messing with my head
I’m not staying to be tortured
I’m off now to my bed!
