Downey, glistening petals
Quiver in springs faint breeze
Borne high by slender shafts
Of emerald hue
As I survey
This once common meadow
I am awed
By it’s springtime beauty
A magnificent blanket of daffodils
Within this flaxen host
A new colt at his mother’s side
Attempts to follow
As she slowly moves away
But, his wobbly legs give way
And he falls
He rests there for a while
Sheltered
In this golden sea

Very pleasant read. I love those last three lines most. Thanks.
