POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
I call these square poems because they have the same number of syllables per line as there are lines in the poem. For example, a four-line poem would have four syllables per line, and a six-line poem would have six syllables per line.

This poem has five lines, so it has five syllables per line.

The bald eagle at one time was endangered in the United States of America because it was discovered that the pesticide DDT was getting into their systems through their prey, and it was causing weakened eggshells and other conditions. Since DDT was banned a few years ago, the eagles have made a significant comeback.

I like several of these " square poems." Very creative. Are they all acrostics?

This is a novel form of poetry, I assume. Have you invented it? However this is quite ingenious! A beautiful poem.

Valsa, my friend! Good to hear from you again after all this time. Yes, I did indeed invent this form a few years ago (four years,2014) . Thank you so much for your comment.
