Square Poems 40: I Thought Winter Was Over

Yesterday my apricot
tree was starting to break out
with little blossoms of white.
Today it's TOTALLY white,
but it's not blossoms; it's snow!
How can this be, on the tenth
day of spring? Winter is back!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Square poems, by my own definition, have the same number of syllables per line as there are lines in the poem. A six-line poem would have six syllables per line, and a ten-line poem would have ten syllables per line. This poem has seven lines, so it has seven syllables per line. There are no other rules for square poems. They do not have to rhyme, unless your name is Wes Vogler, but's fun to make them rhyme when you can. It's also fun to make them acrostic poems. This really did happen to my apricot tree a few days ago. No fruit this year, in all likelihood! Posted 29 March 2020

Nature seems to be slapping humanity in the face of late, saying: Wake up! Beautiful picture. I love the absolutely gorgeous picture of the Junco also. I love every bit of nature.
