Set out to search for wicked,
I found few were so crooked;
When I delved deep unto me,
Oh, none was evil like me!

Burā jo dekhan main chalā, burā nā milyā koye,
Jo munh khojā apnā, to mujhse burā nā koye.
We always look far and wide for the evil, assuming that we are always innocent. But if we put a mirror in front of us we will soon find the truth that we are no less an evil.
Alas one can't see what one does not wish to see.
Topic: evil, search
This is the second Couplet of St. Kabeer I read till now and he amazes me more and most, AND you Aniruddha Sir, as the interpreter from Hindi into English has excellently done, so perfect, otherwise we as readers cannot feel the essence that is meant by the honourable St. Kabeer. His Couplet goes very deep and I must say that (2)
The great revelation, first step towards positive learning. Very fine
A superb quatrain. Another brilliant thoughts imbued with wisdom and insight. So very true. An incisive write. Onto my Poem List.
Thanks, this thought of St Kabeer is excellent and it is he that deserves all credit, it is his wisdom, and if the translation has come out well, well, I'll take some residual credit.
This poem has not been translated into any other language yet.
I would like to translate this poem
2) you have done that brilliantly. I have not the feeling that St. Kabeer's Couplet 2 has lost its powerful meaning, due to your perfect interpretation, truly a great blessing to read this in your poem. Fascinating with bit of subtle irony and great humor. You have done that again with end rhymes. Sublimest Sir! Yes, I am one and all full of superlatives when it concerns the correct and perfect interpretation, Without you no C.u.m. Laude for St. Kabeer
