Stay At Home - Shelter-In-Place Poem by Darwin Henry Beuning

Stay At Home - Shelter-In-Place

Rating: 5.0

What part of Caesar's decree
Does not the World understand?

Obey, and you may live;
Disobey, and you may die.

Plain and simple,
Cut and dry.

Palm Sunday,6 April 2020
Many places of worship
Summon their flocks to gather.

These religious leaders
Have forgotten the Lord's words -

Render therefore unto Caesar
The things which are Caesar's;
and unto God the things
that are God's.

I like reading Jesus' rejoinder to the Pharisees, on looking at a denarius: coin ' Therefore render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's: and unto God the things that are God's'

Yes, we should listen when they tell us to stay at home and avoid others for now. This virus has not yet reached its peak, and it is very dangerous so we need to keep safe.

Aloha and Cheers Darwin Henry... yes a bit stoic firmly entrenched in words of others...perhaps it is just time to " pull" humanity and build a new set of towers... other than the aged ones book ending our fears... All of the best from this life, to you, and all of our relations... Michaelw1two

This came to me after reviewing Sylia Francis Chan's essay titled: What Lenten Means.

This is the time of crisis and danger. All should stay at home and offer prayer before God. Part Caesar's decree is not understood by the world but we should try to understand. We should not fear Corona virus at all. In many places religious leaders and people are offering worship. We have to please and promise God. He can only save us. An excellent poem is very well penned.10
