Stiletto Poem by Donald R Wolff JR

Stiletto

You and I-
We were more than something
Never a morning without you there

Our joy we found within each other
Always with me, everywhere

Now I live, this world without you
They stole your life away
Now I live with, broken spirit
It hurts inside me every day

You were the joy that made me happy
Who would know that soon we'd part
I thought that time we would have plenty
Now the memories break my heart

For you I'll stay and face the empty
Until the day of my last breath
Perhaps I'll find you in forever
Where creation keeps, the best

I know that life is not a promise
And it brings sorrow to let you go
Why must the selfish take our pleasure
Why must they always hurt our soul

Someday the stars will fill the morning
When we wake the life we dream
In the fields, I shall then find you
In the midst of always Spring
