For I have kept the ashes,
The remains of fondest memories,
Well-sweetened by despair of yesteryears,
As my tongue lay twisted
By my thoughts of you
And not speak of something new.
Oh, I regret...
I regret the massacre that was my voice,
Well thought of and well designed
To sever our bond,
My only linkage
Among the living;
For I am nothing now,
Hollow,
Merely existing.
Oh, how I wish...
Wish that I could swallow those
Past verses that I may
Speak of it renewed
And grant my soul’s wish for revival;
But it’s nowhere near possible,
I am but a lonely being now
Reminiscing the taste of honey
In my taste buds
And the glory days that was my spring.
And yes, the harshest of cold will linger
And I will always speak
For what is winter-
My heart.
this is a poem, it's deep and emotional, you have every creative way of sending a message to your audience, great job ^w^
I liked the lines: For I have kept the ashes, The remains of fondest memories. And: Oh, I regret... I regret the massacre that was my voice. And: I am but a lonely being now, Reminiscing the taste of honey. It looks like you're in a cage waiting for something or someone or maybe something to forget. I really enjoyed reading this poem. A great write. Keep penning. B.B.
