Such a lovely rainbow arced
Across the azure sky
So many pretty colours
To captivate my eye
A spectrum of enchantment
A magical display
One of nature's precious gifts
Unfolded here today
Magnificent, resplendent
With raindrops dancing there
Through which the light refracted
To birth a vision fair
With red and orange, yellow
Green, blue and violet
The colours of the rainbow
Upon the sky were set
I looked in awe and wonder
At this soft coloured light
Then like a mystic phantom
It faded out of sight
With heavy heart I pondered
Where did those colours go
To once again recapture
A lovely rainbow show

(Sunlight hitting raindrops which then become prisms, through which the light is refracted to manifest as a rainbow) .
Nature's ways are wonderful. And her play on colours: the rainbow, the sky at the dusk and at the break of dawn, the blossoms, autumn leaves and so on. Your poem too, as beautiful as the rainbow itself. Loved it.5*

I agree. There is such beauty and awe in a rainbow. And regardless, if you're two or ninety-two, we all stare up into the sky when one is present.
