Such A Thing As Always

he's touched me deeper than my body,
deeper than my thoughts,
much more than lust or satiation,
more than trust. for like as not,
two rhythms move this heart within me;
one is mine - the other, his.
death and distance notwithstanding
such a thing as 'always' is.
