Summer Downpour In The Tropics. Poem by Geoffrey Fafard

Summer Downpour In The Tropics.

Rating: 5.0

Smacking the earth like an angry teacher
Pelting the green
Thick rain, thunderous rain, tumultuous rain
Pouring from a hidden vessel in the clouds
Deafening, roaring, cutting its way
To the parched jungles of the north
Jungles that depend on just this
And the steamy mists rise
And the birds go wild
And life is reborn, refreshed, reignited
Rain the tears of the forests
Lost in a green embrace
On every thing touched.

Well written description of rain, Geoffrey. I admire your choices of a photo that fits your poems. Mother Nature is presently teasing us on the South Coast of NSW, temperatures in the ridiculous hot range, then thunderstorms to frighten the best of us.
