Sunday At The Fair Poem by Kasia Fedyk

Sunday At The Fair

Rating: 3.2

Sunday at the fair
you bought a painting
it was a nice time for you
a time to relax and unwind
you haven't done it in a while
just walk along the avenue
watch people go by
eat their ice cream
laughing, talking about
what they have done and
how they fear sometimes
you watch their body movements
and read what they may be thinking
and feeling.

A beautiful day
the sky is blue with tiny clouds
that seems to move with you as you take a step
the sun warm and comforting
the sounds of the music in the air
reminds you of something'
maybe the younger years
a flash back
you feel good, carefree
smile starts to radiate on your face
making you feel young again
your walk a bit slower
the body a bit rusty
doesn't seem to matter
not today
something about the air
the wave of the wind
playing with your hat
joys fills you from head to toe
you forget about yesterday
and tomorrow
just this moment
glorious moment

The painting caught your eye
something about it
draws you to stair and be silent
you sit on your chair
the painting still in your hands
rejuvenated, heart so filled with joy
from the moments before

-not forgotten, felt so deeply
another moment has come..

You keep staring
the colors so vibrant
in your eyes,
this painting heals you
with the mass of mixture
created with a stroke
of a brush in the artists hands
you feel his emotions
and language he spoke
with each move
not premeditated but free
of thought and spoken
from the spirit
you embrace this moment
like the one before
spirit flies high
and flesh released
in this precious moment.
